Lily Evans Potter
Matriarch of House Potter
Faceclaim: Sobhita Dhulipala
Lily Jayalalita Evans Potter, formerly known as Lily Jessamine Evans and famously as Voldemort's Vanquisher, is the Matriarch of the Potter family, the Lady of Nagaraja Hall, and Senior Unspeakable of the British Department of Mysteries' Brain Room. She is the wife of James Potter and Regulus Potter, and the mother of Harry Potter and Madhuri Potter.
More information below the cut
What's in a Name?
Jayalalita जयाललितायै
— Lily's birth name that she reclaimed after she reunited with her Telugu family
जया Jaya – victory, one of the 108 names of the Hindu goddess Durga
ललितायै Lalita – She Who is Pleasant, Charming, Desirable, one of the 108 names of the Hindu goddess Durga
An Ode to Growing Up "Other"...
Lily knew she was different long before Severus told her about her Magic. She didn't look like her parents nor her older sister Petunia. Mr. and Mrs. Evans had adopted her from a family in India out of the goodness of their hearts. However, they went into it thinking all they needed to do was love and care for Lily enough in order to make up for their inability to keep her connected to her heritage.
There is something to be said about growing up and trying your best to fit in anywhere but every time you find a way to be more comfortable with one facet of your identity, you become ostracised with another facet. You could never be everything at once in the eyes of society. You have to be one, or the other. And even then, you will never be enough.
When Lily met Severus and was introduced to the world of Magic, it had cost her Petunia who couldn't follow her and who decided to cope with the loss of Lily through hatred. And when Lily grew closer to James and Sharanya and her Telugu identity, Severus coped with the change in a manner that was simply too reminiscent of Petunia.
...And Finding Your Way Home
Lily's transition from childhood to adolescence was marked by two major losses and one big reconnection. Her first experience with people who actually looked like her happened when she was first Sorted into Gryffindor. In her new House, she met James Potter, who laughed at Severus' appearance and poverty but offered to teach her about her culture in the same breath.
While James Potter introduced her to the broader Indian culture, C. Sharanya of Ravenclaw and her future best friend made her aware of the diversity of the Indian subcontinent. James' Tamil culture was different from her Kannadiga culture, as was Paresh Patil's Marathi culture. From there, Lily wanted to discover her own.
In the midst of her studies and crumbling relationships with Petunia and Severus, Lily slowly reconnected with her own Indian identity. And then one day James Potter approached her again. This time not with another plead for a date, but a name and an address.
"You can meet your birth family this summer, if you want. I can take you. Or pay for the trip. Or something." "You know this wouldn't make me say yes to you, right?" "I didn't do this for brownie points, my dear Lily. I did this because I wanted to help you." "Oh."
She was Telugu. She had biological, living family in Telangana, the land where she was born.
They had given her the name Jayalalita (victory, desirable. They loved and wanted her.). They wanted to meet her.
It felt like coming home at last.
Collected Miscellany
Little bits of extra information/headcanons for her. This section will be updated from time to time.
Was adopted as a baby by the Evans family, a white British couple who lived in Cokeworth, England
Her biological family, who are all mundane, hails from Telangana. Her parents died when she was a baby and her relatives could not afford to take care of her so they were forced to put her up for adoption
Struggled to connect with her peers as a child due to being the only POC in the area and, later on, being Magical
Severus Snape was her first friend
Completely cut contact with him when he insulted her Muggleborn and Indian identities during an argument between the two of them
Prior to this, Lily had attempted to rein in James and his friends’ bullying and reconcile both sides since she considered them both her friends and she didn’t want to see them hurting each other
James did eventually mellow out, but Snape on the other hand chose to stew in bitterness. He saw her friendship with James as a great betrayal, insisting that Lily didn’t need James since she had Sharanya to teach her about Indian culture instead
Another factor that added to the strain in their relationship was Snape adopting bigoted views and ideas. Snape insisted she wasn’t “one of the bad ones”.
Her alma mater is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where she was Sorted into Gryffindor
She was made Head Girl in her seventh year, with James as Head Boy
James was her first actual connection to her culture. Though she disliked him at first, James was able to get on friendlier terms with her when he realised Lily was disconnected from her Indian identity and offered to help her reconnect
Fell for James for real when he spent several summers relentlessly tracking down her birth family for her and his efforts bore fruit on their sixth year. James brought Lily with him to Telangana so she can meet them at last
Lily possesses prodigious skills in Potions, Charms and Transfiguration. Out of the three, she chose to pursue a Charms Mastery.
In addition to her position as the Potter family Matriarch, Lily is also an Unspeakable in the Brain Room of the Department of Mysteries
Fluent in Tamil and Telugu, conversational in Sanskrit, Middle Tamil, and Classical Sanskrit
Considered sending Harry and Madhu to Tamil Nadu for their education but ultimately decided to let them attend Hogwarts since the children wanted to
Befriended Andromeda Black and Narcissa Black through Sirius and Regulus
Befriended Alice Fawley and C.(Chirayu) Sharanya (Patil twins’ mother) in Hogwarts
Befriended Pandora Lovegood (nee Malfoy) at work as an Unspeakable

(South) Indian Harry Potter Headcanons:
Harry knew he was Indian (mostly because the Dursley’s used to say racist shit to him) but he didn’t know where in India the potters were from until he went to Hogwarts. He finds out from the Patils, who were close with the potters because desis stick together.
The Patils are from the north and use Hindi to speak to each other. Neither of them knows Telugu/Tamil/Marathi/Malayalam/insert Southern language of choice here (I personally headcanon Telugu because it’s the only Indian language I speak and because there’s a huge diaspora of telugumandi in the west, but feel free to choose whatever you’d like). So Harry has to rediscover his heritage language on his own.
He also studies Sanskrit, and it opens up a HUGE world of spells that they don’t teach at Hogwarts (because of course Indian wizards don’t do spells in Latin). He and the Patils know a bunch of spells that nobody else does.
Harry’s pleat game is ON POINT. It makes sense, since he had to do all the chores at the Dursley’s and that includes perfectly folded and ironed laundry with the edges aligned neatly, or else he would risk being punished. But the result is that if you want your saree drape to pass the inspection of even the most judgemental auntie, you go to Harry to help with your pleats.
Even when they’ve graduated and all have their own homes, it’s a pretty regular sight for the Patil twins to come through Harry’s floo, half dressed, to have Harry pleat their sarees or their lehenga dupatta for them.
Harry LOVES spices. The dursleys only liked bland food, but Harry has always liked flavorful foods, and has no problem with (hot) spicy food either. He uses lots of spices in his own cooking now. His food is very flavorful, but when he’s cooking for himself, it’s too spicy for all his friends (even the Patils). So nobody can eat his leftovers unless he was specifically cooking with other people in mind. Ron learned this the first time he rummaged through Harry’s fridge after a night of drinking. Now Harry labels all his food as to whether or not it’s “Harry spicy”.
James LOVED to buy Lily sarees. He’d order them with custom, wizard-themed designs from weaving villages in south India. The women who made them assumed he was just very imaginative, so he wasn’t violating the statute of secrecy since saree patterns are often vibrant and unique. Harry finds some of them in the old potter manor, and they still smell like the perfumes and scented oils his mother would wear when James took her to the local temple for Hindu holidays.
Indian witches often store extra magic in or enchant pieces of their copious jewelry with spells that can keep them safe if they’re ever in a situation where they don’t have their wands. stuff like, each bangle can function as an emergency portkey that can take you to different safe locations if you say the activation word, or ones that create an instant magical shield when you tap them. Harry finds some of his mothers gajulu, gives them to his female friends.
He ties Rhaki on Ron and Neville, and all the weasley boys. Ron was the first person he ever tied it on, because Ron was the first person who he ever bonded with, and his closest brother.
Harry always cooks idli sambar or dosa for his friends for breakfast the next morning after a night of drinking together, and it’s the perfect hangover food because it definitely brings you back to full alertness/knocks the last bit of post-hangover grogginess right out of your system.
Harry’s parselmouth abilities are valued in his native culture because of the sacredness of snakes in Hinduism, and it comes to be something he’s really proud of (personally I think the ‘parselmouth connected to the horcrux’ thing is dumb, so I’ve always imagined Harry was just naturally a parselmouth).
As the number of Indian immigrants/expats continues to grow after they graduate, Harry helps some of his students (he’s the DADA teacher) start the Hogwarts “South Asian Student Union”.
He always has snacks out for his students when they come to visit his office hours, and they’re all Indian snacks and sweets. His personal favorite is kaju barfi, but he always has a good variety of both sweet and spicy treats, especially for stressed out owl and newts students.
He collaborates with Hermione, who works in the ministry, to make it mandatory for Hogwarts students to a “foreign magical language” course so they can broaden both their minds and their spell repertoires. Padma Patil becomes the “Sanskrit Spells” teacher, and Seamus teaches “Irish Gaelic”. (It took him a little longer to get his course started, since it turns out that at least 40% of Gaelic spells are just increasingly complicated and violent ways to repel the English).
Hermione and Harry also work together to make sure there are employees in the international magical cooperation department who specialize in post-colonial relations, because the magical world also has its issues with that colonialist mindset towards countries that were formerly part of the empire.
Just south Indian Harry embracing his heritage, learning about what was ripped from him, and using it to enact meaningful change in a multicultural magical society.

So…one of my favourite headcanons is that the Potter family are Indian. (Those of you who’ve read my Grindeldore/Wolfstar dancer fic might recall that Fleamont Potter, James’ father and the UK Prime Minister, is Indian in that. Funnily enough, our real life Prime Minister is a British Indian Hindu who became PM last year. On Diwali. Yeah, that was an…interesting day in the family. Still not entirely sure how I feel about it.)
Anyway - here are some headcanons about James Potter being Indian, some of which are based around how I actually grew up. (Note: there will probably be more as I think of them!):
When Holi comes around, James wakes the others up by pelting them with coloured powder. He does it every year and every year they fall for it. They also pelt everyone with coloured powder throughout the holiday. It took weeks for the paint to be cleaned fully. (Some people suspected Dumbledore deliberately let it stay like that because he liked the colours.)
Sirius got really angry the first time he heard someone call James a Paki. He doesn’t know what it means, but he never wants to see that look on James’ face again. He absolutely lost it when James told him what it meant. (For those of you who don’t know what it means, it’s an incredibly racist slur towards south Asians; along similar lines of using the n-word to a black person. This is also why James gets so angry whenever anyone uses the word Mudblood - because he knows how that shit feels.)
Sirius helps James create magical rangoli patterns during Diwali. They also take over the kitchen for an evening trying to make Indian sweets. The results are mixed-looking, but they all taste good, and the house elves get some great new dishes.
Every time a festival falls on a full moon, they always celebrate a few days after so Remus can join in. (He hugely appreciates the sweets.)
James initially wasn’t thrilled that his Animagus form is a stag, since a deer is the form one of the bad guys took in the Ramayana when he triggered the events that led to Rama’s wife being kidnapped.
When James’ father died, he had a traditional Hindu funeral. Traditionally, the eldest son leads the proceedings, but when James broke down, Sirius stepped in to continue. In that moment, James loved Sirius more than he could put into words.
James also taught the Marauders some Hindi so they could talk privately, as well as some Indian magic.
James, Lily and Sirius actually go to india for their wedding outfits. Lily also has magical mendhi patterns done by James’ aunts and cousins. James also had to gently explain to Lily that wearing white is associated with funerals.
Petunia showed up to James and Lily’s wedding in a white dress to try and upstage the bride. She’s very confused to realise a) Lily is not wearing white, and b) a lot of James’ relatives are looking at her weirdly, because she’s wearing a funeral colour.
At James and Lily’s engagement party, James’ aunties kept trying to set Sirius up with their daughters and teasing him about getting married. They shut up when Sirius snogged Remus in front of everyone. James wasn’t even mad that his engagement was briefly upstaged.
James has a book of Indian tales and legends passed down from his father. He read them to Harry at bedtime. Lily would smile and watch from the doorway. He also taught his friends some classic Indian songs to sing to Harry.
Every year on Raksha Bandhan, James ties a rakhi on Sirius’ wrist and charms them so they’ll never come undone. One night, Sirius noticed the threads of one of them coming loose. That night was October 31st, 1981.

Harry/Hermione friendship au
So I headcanon Hermione as Guyanese (and Harry as Indian), and according to the internet, there’s a decently large Guyanese community in Croydon, London, towards the South of the city. Little Whinging, from what I can tell, is also supposed to be to the South of London, so...
AU where they somehow wind up at the same school, like elementary school because they’re like ten, and wind up becoming friends because they both make really weird stuff happen around them. Hermione introduces Harry to the book Matila, because Hermione loving that book is one of my favorite headcanons ever, and he starts really identifying with her. #Comfort character lmao.
BTW James was South Indian (specifically from Karnataka), and Potter is an anglicized form of Poojari. Harry is anglicized from Hari. Lily Evans is Scottish so Hari Poojari, mixed savior of the wizarding world. Hari’s Parseltongue comes from Naga blood (Nagas are Hindu mythological beings with part snake part human forms). A lot of people see James as Punjabi or Gujurati but I’ve always seen him as South Indian so.
Hermione, like I said, is Guyanese, so speaks Guyanese Creole as well as English. Specifically she’s Afro-Guyanese. Granger is a pretty common last name, even if its less so in Guyana there are still people with it, so it seems okay. As for ‘Hermione’, I couldn’t find if it was a common first name, but I’ll just say her parents liked it. If anyone has a Guyanese first or last name that could fit better that ‘Hermione Granger’ could be an anglicized version of tell me.

Personal Hp headcanons
Harry is the decendant of an ancient indian line of wizards who immigrated to the UK during the first world war. He learns his heritage from the patil twins in third year.
Hermione is black with roots in south Africa. Ron takes muggle classes to learn how to do her hair after the war, and it becomes one of their rituals on quiet mornings.
Luna is trans and awesome. After the war, she rambles a lot and the thestrals love her, but everyone loves her paintings more than they fear them, sometimes even enough to get them tattoed on their skin.
A lot of other people in Hogwarts are trans including minerva McGonagall who, as headmistress, personnally makes sure every student in need of a transition can get through it safely.
Ginny is a jock and made Harry’s bi brain go haywire when she knocked someone out first in front of him. She loves freedom more than loving him though, Charlie is the same, the wind runs in their veins and nothing can tie them down to earth for too long.
Neville is ace and grows to become a fantastic botanist. He opens a quiet store in Hogsmeade, always puts the calming flowers outside to help passerbys. Those who survived the war have dibs on his special nightmare-and-anxiety-reducing teas.
Draco take classes to become a Healer after the war because he wants to exist for something else that his past. His mother is proud. They grow fllowers together in the manor to erase the darkness and replace it with the beauty of growing life.
Teddy grows surrounded by love. People get surprised when he sometimes changes his hair to resemble the one of girls and boys he likes in Hogwarts.
Hermione and Ron get a tattoo together, hers to hide the scar on her arm, his because her pain is his and he loves her so much.
Harry gets some too. Hedwig on his hand to hide his scar, a tiny playing greyhound on his hips, a snake between his shoulderblades, a golden snitch only him can catch, and a whole lot of runes and charms to help with the nightmares.
Luna makes the dog. She also draws the spells, and both Ron and Hermione’s tattoos.
Ginny doesn’t give harry children, she’s happier withtout giving any to anyone, but they stay best friends even after the break up.
Harry adopts James a month after Teddy’s seventh birthday. Albus’s second name is Reubeus, and Lily loves drawing creatures with Luna when Harry needs someone to watch the kids for some time.
He travels a lot, brings them with him and teach them to love all worlds without prejudice. Hermione loves when he comes back with new recipes to share and new spells to show. Ron and her also love the nights they spend together, only the three of them, to talk until the sun rises and their throats are raw with emotion.
Sometimes though, Harry hides into his room and doesn’t come out until his heart rate slows down. Warm cookies always wait for him in the kitchen when he does.
Draco apologies. Harry learns to see and like the man he’s become when their children become friends in Hogwarts.
Scorpius is Draco’s pride. Astoria divorced him when she understood he wasn’t the man she’d dreamt him to be, but he could never let her take his son away.
He sometimes asks hermione for advice with muggle things. He wants his son to know the world isn’t limited to a wizard’s existence. She’s suspicious at first, but accepts to let him become a friend when she sees just how hard he’s willing to try for his son to sees the world under a better light than he used to at his age.
He reminds her of Harry, and she almost cries out of happiness when she sees them laughing together as friends in King’s Cross for the first time.
Ginny stops by at Luna’s once in a while. There’s always some tea waiting for her like she knew she’d come. They watch the sunset together, the sheets smell better with both their scents on them.
Harry becomes a teacher. The sudents call him Potter with annoyance or awe but it’s different, they forget he used to be someone else and it’s a lungful of fresh air in his life.
His children are mischievous. They get that from Georges when he passes by with stories of the places he’s visited, of people he’s met and things he’s seen. He doesn’t smile much, but he says someone’s waiting for him, and he wants to see enough for them to talk about it and laugh together until the world ends when he gets there.
Harry goes to therapy. They all do. Some days it’s hard, but they keep on together and though the memories hurt, they learn together to make a life filled with more happiness and love than regret and sorrow.
They’re healing and the world goes on better than it started.

Quote
Mrs Potter was Mrs Dursley’s sister, but they hadn’t met for several years; in fact, Mrs Dursley pretended she didn’t have a sister, because her sister and her good-for-nothing husband were as unDursleyish as it was possible to be. The Dursleys shuddered to think what the neighbours would say if the Potters arrived in the street.
Philosopher’s Stone, Ch. 1
This works particularly well if you subscribe to the popular headcanon that Harry is of South Asian descent through James. The Dursleys hate Harry because of his magic, of course, but outright racism would certainly not be out of character for them (read: Vernon’s Japanese golfer joke in Book 2). We already know that people can tell on sight that Harry isn’t a Dursley, and in addition to his shabby, second-hand clothes, being half-Indian would make him stick out even more in their rich, probably mostly white suburban neighbourhood. If Lily had married an Indian wizard, it would have damaged Petunia’s understanding of her own life as being “normal” (read: white and nonmagical). Any attempts to further distance herself from Lily’s life would have proved fruitless when Petunia was then forced to raise a magical, nonwhite child.

Dude oh my god I'm so happy you like poc HCs. Half Japanese and half Arabic sirius black is just y e s. And east or south asian james potter (specifically Arabic or Indian). I really want a character to be latinx (definitely not me projecting) but I cant think of any that come to mind immediately. Also!! Half Korean and half white lily. Maybe mexican remus bc I'm mexican and I love remus so much fkfbfkfbdj
YES TO ALL OF THESE!
To me, Sirius and Remus are both Chinese. I think that there’s a lot of internalized racism in there because Walburga always felt really insecure about being Asian and as a result they didn’t really get to learn that much about their heritage. It’s only afterwards that Sirius started learning more about his culture, speaking the language and finally gets over this internalized racism that his mum imposed on him.
Draco’s half Japanese because I think that would be gorgeous. Also because I’m writing a Hanahaki fic and I love the idea of him coughing up cherry blossoms and chrysanthemums.
Pansy is Chinese and absolutely badass. Luna is half Japanese/Korean, and Blaise is African American. I love Indian James Potter, POC Lily (Korean Lily sounds 👌👌 especially with that fire red hair? Like very Kpop style??) Which means Harry is half Indian, half Korean which would be gorgeous as well (though there would obviously be that racism coming from the Dursley’s and from Vernon...)
I HC Dorcas as Latina! And Benjy Fenwick is a POC (for some reason I thought Mongolian? But also African American!) Cho is Korean as well! (In Eighth year, she and Pansy go on epic Kpop karaoke sessions!) I also think Marcus Flint is Chinese/Japanese because I need more Asian HP rep!!
Seriously, I’m so happy to talk about my character hc’s ANYTIME (and I’d love for y’all to share yours!!)

marauders + accents
James with a South English accent until he gets nervous or flustered and his Indian accent starts to show.
Remus with a strong Welsh accent that's hard to understand at first but you get used to it. Remus speaking Welsh in a flurry when angry or irritated, mostly by the other marauders.
Lily growing up in London and so having a strong cockney accent that becomes less obvious through the years but still clear when she gets passionate about something.
Peter having a slight northern accent that sticks with him throughout his school years. Most obvious when saying words like glasses, grass, raspberry.
Sirius having a mild French accent in first year that he trained off. can be heard slightly when he's drunk or nervous though.
bonus -
McGonagall's Scottish accent getting particularly strong and hard to understand when angered and annoyed. Particularly by a certain group of four boys.

Hariharan Nalin Potter
Heir of House Potter
Faceclaim: Anirudh Pisharody
Hariharan Nalin Potter, commonly known as Harry and famously as the Boy-Who-Lived, is the eldest child and only son of the Potter family's Head couple Lily and James Potter and their husband Regulus Potter. He is the older brother by four years to a younger sister named Madhuri Potter, as well as the godson of Sirius Black and Sharanya Patil.
More information below the cut
What's in a Name?
Hariharan ஹரிஹரன்
— from the the fused Sattvika characterisation of Vishnu (Hari) and Shiva (Hara)
Hari – the one who takes away (sins)
Hara – Remover of sins
Nalin நளின்
— means close, abundance, pride; also a synonym for lotus
Follows the Evans tradition of naming their children after flowers
Also calls back to James’ middle name (Mooriyan, pride)
Picked by Regulus. In ancient Egypt, lotuses represent rebirth and the Sun and by god did he feel his life beginning anew the moment he laid eyes on baby Harry
The Snake With No Self-Preservation Instincts
When Harry entered Hogwarts at the age of 11, the Sorting Hat was torn between Gryffindor and Slytherin for him. Maybe even Ravenclaw if the Hat was feeling particularly experimental. In the end, the Hat put him in Slytherin, much to the delight of his baba Regulus.
Slytherin won the Hat over by just a small margin. In this universe, Harry was raised not with scorn nor contempt but with an overabundance of love and support. Many of the influential adults in his life inspired him to be as driven and goal-oriented as they are. Additionally, the inclusion of a third, Slytherin-to-the-core parent also influenced Harry's own personal choice in Houses.
Slytherins are also defined by their tendency to stick close to family traditions. Harry was raised completely immersed in his South Indian heritage of Tamil and Telugu and he's very proud of it. Thus he is completely dedicated to preserving and following the cultural and familial traditions he was raised with.
Finally, he has a brilliant and clever mind as well as a knack for leadership (regardless of how much he denies that himself). Growing in a house of love and positivity allowed Harry to fully lean into his gifts instead of focusing on survival. In this universe, Harry was allowed to shine and shine he did.
As per the hierarchy of Slytherin, Harry is naturally the most influential half-blood as the Boy-Who-lived and is considered by his half-blood and Muggleborn yearmates as their leader the same way the Purebloods consider Draco Malfoy theirs.
"You're a bloody Slytherin, why do you lack self-preservation?" "Maybe if you dig your pointy nose into my business some more, you'd find it."
One thing that does set Harry aside from his Slytherin cohorts is his apparent "lack of self-preservation". Sense of self-preservation is a signature Slytherin trait that is far outweighed by Harry's natural "saving people thing" that is apparently in every Potter's genes.
Harry simply doesn't hesitate to lend a hand whenever he sees that he could. He helps even when it is detrimental to himself, which gives him a sort of reputation as one of the more eccentric Slytherins of his year. This resulted in him gaining a close social circle that is composed of several non-Slytherins which is an unusual sight within the House that Keeps to Themselves.
Escaping from Death's Clutches
Harry's main claim to fame is his apparent survival from being hit by the Killing Curse at point blank when he was four years old. The incident was widely publicized by Voldemort himself who had kidnapped Harry as a child after years of failed attempts to pierce through the powerful wards of Nagaraja Hall. Voldemort had wanted to publicly execute Harry as punishment for his parents who had thrice defied him.
This backfired on the Dark Lord as not only did Harry survive his Killing Curse but the knockback from the protective Magics weakened Voldemort enough for a furious Lily Potter to land the killing blow on him, ending the First Wizarding War. Because of this, Harry and Lily share the title Lord Voldemort's Vanquisher, a title that both despise.
Harry sports a seemingly permanent lichtenberg scar above his left eye. According to all the Healers that have examined him, it may very well be the first and only known occurrence of a curse scar borne from being hit and surviving the Killing Curse. The scar runs deeper than it looks and has rendered Harry half-blind in his left eye.
He has little to no clear memories of the incident owing to how traumatic it was but the trauma has left its own imprints in him, namely his scar, partial blindness, and a certain discomfort whenever someone points a wand at him without any warning.
Collected Miscellany
Little bits of extra information/headcanons for him. This section will be updated from time to time.
As per the tradition of Nandhini's descendants, Harry is bonded to a boa constrictor and a Basilisk
Harry has Lily’s temper, James’ compassion, and Regulus’ pride
He has been said to be a promising talent in flying, combat magic, and transfiguration. He claims to have an “easier time” at performing wandless magic. He was also personally tutored by his grandmother Euphemia in the art of pearl-based magic.
Excels in the Seeker position but does pretty okay in other positions.
Produced a corporeal Patronus at age 13. His Patronus is an Indian sambar stag which is the same as his appa James
While he’s absolutely brilliant in the kitchen, he unfortunately didn’t inherit Lily’s talent at Potions.
This is because he was taught how to cook before he was taught how to brew. Potions requires precision and accuracy but he’s used to measuring ingredients “by heart, soul, vibes and the voice of his ancestor whispering in his ears”.
He’s surprisingly good at anything related to snakes, be it brewing antivenom potions or working with venom or any snake-sourced parts
Aside from English, Harry is fluent in Tamil and Telugu, and conversational in Sanskrit, Middle Tamil, and Classical Sanskrit. Regulus is teaching him and Madhuri Masri (Egyptian Arabic) and Demotic (a very, very late descendant of Ancient Egyptian).
Childhood friends with Ron Weasley since they were babies through the friendship of Lily and Molly

What are your best pg 13 fics for wolfstar bc I can't find any good ones.
okay wow, sorry it’s taken so long for me to get around to answering this, but I’ve had a lot of stories to browse though to find some good titles, and some of my personal favourites include;http://archiveofourown.org/works/6397669/chapters/14648668 - Forever Is A State Of Mind : deaf dance choreographer/ sign language youtuber/single parent Remus meets Makeup Youtuber Sirius and they fall in love, with some added extra south indian (I think) James and baby harry potter—- personal favourite
https://archiveofourown.org/works/3787609/chapters/8428204- Aestheitc Trash Boys : a texting-format fic that starts with accidental dick pics and ends in looooove, v cute and fluffy and w/ a good sense of humor. this is one of my all time faves, i love it’s portrayal of Sirius and every single character is queer which I adore. It gets ~~~kinda~~~ explicit in that theres a lot of talk abt dick pics but theres no actual sex scenes or anything like that, so i think it counts as pg13
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8091773/1/The-Foolproof-POTTER-System - sirius gets desperate for moony to like him back and asks james for advice- to questinable degrees of sucess. Some really nice Lily-acting-like-a-marauder in this
https://archiveofourown.org/works/4989265/chapters/17041803- We Were Infinite. Now this one i wouldn’t class at pg13, as there are some explicit scenes in later chapters, but if you don’t mind those then it’s a really wonderful story capturing the whole of the marauders time at Hogwarts, and the slow-blooming relationship between remus and sirius, it’s got some brilliant characterisations
some stories that aren’t necessarily wolfstar, but i still feel are worth recommending:
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11815544/1/The-Aurors - I fell in love with this one the summer before last i think; “The last thing Harry Potter wants is to be lumped with a trainee Auror, especially one that idolises him. As he guides her through the realities of being an overworked Auror and tentatively settles into adult life with Ginny, a dark plot brews on the horizon…” It’s brilliantly written and so fun to read, though don’t start reading it late at night because you won’t be able to put it down, and it’s looong…
https://archiveofourown.org/works/7331278/chapters/16653022 - Hermione Granger’s Hogwarts Crammer for Delinquents on the Run: Drarry, what would happen if Harry got sent to the muggle world and got… lost? He never recieved his hogwarts letter, so when voldemort starts rising up again, Hermione and the kids who should have been Harry’s classmates take it upon themselves to find, train, and hopefully keep Harry safe
There are so many more that I haven’t remembered about or haven’t even read myself, so I highly recommend you browse through some of the lists on @wolfstarwarehouse, they have such a huge library of amazing stories to chose from and they’re all tagged and organised for easy browsing
Once again I’m so sorry this took so long to post but!!! There were so many to chose form!!!

Hold On To That Feeling
Daydreaming and feeling overwhelming surges of inspiration is normal for me when I’m separated from the means to write (in other words, my laptop) for any extended period of time. I admit that very few times in my life have been so hugely joyous that a certain urgency to capture it in words lasts past the event. Some people have the gift of being motivational rather than nagging and I fully believe that it is the seven-hour car ride next to Sam and my number one baby that I owe this determination to not procrastinate anymore to.
The happiest and saddest experiences are either the easiest or hardest to put into words. In my grief for Max in 2015, I tried desperately to put into words the sudden sense of mortality I felt, being able to remember him as a little pup as if it were yesterday. But unlike my externally forced graduation speech back in 2010, which told as neutrally as possible of my hellish high school years, I couldn’t find the words for my sweet boy. The ever-expanding graveyard is since that summer where I find my ultimate peace and maybe that’s all I can ever say about it.
Maybe because I’ve admired and looked up to One Tree Hill actress and my idol Shantel Vansanten for so many years now, but I finally understand why she says “I look for inspiration in everything around me.” There was a time when I used to wait for that surge of urgency to write, but now many writing courses and pep talks later I’ve realized that it takes as much determination and focus as it does genuine inspiration to be productive. Every time I have heart-to-heart talks with Sam, I come away feeling more talented and capable for it so I owe it to her and myself to capture all the moments that it brings me joy to think about.
After the family vacation through Bruges in Belgium, the French war memorials and last but far from least Watford’s Warner Bros Studios three years ago, I always regretted not pushing through the procrastination to write about how much lasting joy I gained from October 10 2014. Naturally, it was my psychologist who helped me make use of that day of bliss at every turn, by using the happiness of the memory to put me back in a good headspace during stressful and less joyous times. Because I’ve figured out the key to making memories long-lasting for me personally, it is and always has been music. The more Indian weddings I attend the more certain I am that any Indian function my possible future wedding may have will be a sangeet only. I have a carefully chosen anti-anxiety playlist of positive musical associations and have to give even my least favourite One Tree Hill character, Peyton Sawyer, credit for one truth:
But I digress, being a huge fan of John Green’s The Fault In Our Stars after the film adaptation released in summer 2014, come the sightseeing in Belgium that October it was the soundtrack’s peppy track Boom Clap I tuned into as we walked the quaint streets of Bruge. The film’s love story took place in Amsterdam before terminal cancer turned it tragic and hearing that song on a tourist boat ride in Belgium felt close enough to the movie magic to be a joy to recall.
Seeing the war memorials on the next part of the trip it was my Dad’s excitement and the sheer scale of historical melancholy that made it unforgettable, being there to witness the 100th anniversary of WW1 was obviously an immense and sobering experience. But all that took place before one of the happiest days of my life, the one I’m sure I would think back on if J.K Rowling’s Patronus Charm existed in real life. In a way, I understand how she made the joy-sucking Dementors a metaphor for her own depression because that single day has had the strength to carry me through hard times ever since.
Harry Potter was what turned me into what I define myself as today: a fangirl. The fascinating Marauder era still holds a very special place in a heart no longer seventeen but probably happier than nearly a decade ago. It makes me feel old to think that the first Potter film adaptation came out sixteen years ago, 2001 was incidentally the same year to give the world Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, which initiated my ten-year obsession with SRK.
Coming back to the Watford experience, I can safely say it was life-changing: Between Tom Felton’s humorous tour guide recorded narration, the animatronic Buckbeak that actually bowed and blinked and my first taste of Butterbeer, I was floored long before the most exhilarating and then emotional parts of the day. The simulated broom ride which thanks to the souvenir videos and photograph reminds me more than anything else how happy that day was, is still something I just have to watch to feel intense surrealism to this day. But my favourite photograph that day is of me posing behind the Privet Drive sign. It’s hilarious to think that on the set the awful Dursley’s home exterior is right next to the ruin of Lily and James Potter’s house.
Already soaring on a wave of bliss that had begun with the HP film scores blasting all the way to the parking lot, standing in front of that scorched wall is where I got really emotional because somehow the couple who are dead before the series even begins have always meant the most to me. Yes walking through Diagon Alley’s set with the incredible detail on all sides I genuinely felt like Harry in wishing I had about a hundred eyes at once. But somehow it was still that ruined Potter cottage that I remember responding to now; the fictional sacrifice for their baby’s life as stirring and inspiring as anything else that trip.
When I was sixteen I once had a crush on a boy just because he resembled the fifteen-year-old James Potter from the Order Of The Phoenix film adaptation, incidentally my last non-celebrity / fictional crush to date.
Needless to say, that went nowhere and Harry Potter has stayed an important happy place for me longer than anyone in school ever did. There might still be times when the high school years negatively affect how I feel about myself but those days are few and far between.
Luckily for me, it’s a fact that time heals all wounds and someday only those powerful happy memories will remain. As Albus Dumbledore wisely said after all...
Even as a writer, with a craft as creative and yet honed by habit as many others, the end result of a piece like this isn’t always in sight from the beginning. There’s always the fine line of discussing a work in progress with my cheerleading family and figuring out on my own what feels right. I’ve had all sorts of advice; to combine experiences or don’t, or to be honest and heartfelt but draw the line somewhere. But at the end of the day, I know that the only way to get the words out is to find my own flow and go with it. All the song lyrics and Disney mottos about following your heart have got to come from a place of some kind of experience I suppose, so that’s what I decide to do with every word.
The theme of this article is holding on to joy and describing some hugely happy moments in my recent past would not be complete without the last week’s trip to Kottayam in Kerala. Some say this past week, with a royal Indian wedding and such a fabulous vacation with old friends deserves its own article and maybe someday it will get it. After all it took three years to pay tribute to the Potter joy as this article does.
But stand-alone tribute or not, the vacation after the Scindia wedding deserves a very heartfelt mention for inspiring me to write again in the first place with the love from old friends and simply breath-taking experiences. In a way, it does tie into the whole filmy Potter experience because Chacko Uncle shared his jaw-dropping world so modestly with us. How often does the average person get to sneak onto an active TV set and witness a girl prance onto the stage to an iconic SRK song?
For almost a decade my love of Bollywood became a way to connect with my roots from abroad and now it is always being in India that finds some way or other to remind me how much I will always admire King Khan. Granted there’s a huge nostalgia factor now but that song choice and moment in a little corner of that studio, trying to sneak a peek without tripping over the wires or squealing out loud was something I won’t forget in a hurry.
Over the next two days, the thrills just kept on coming, whether it was the epic serenades of our very own crooner Charles (the man stole my heart with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and kept it awed with a freaking Swiss German number) or getting to feel like a film star speeding along the backwaters, it was definitely like the Warner Studios tour in that I wanted to drink in all the sights and hold on to how I felt in the moment.
I’m not normally particularly keen on selfies, but with the enforced dressing up for the wedding before the Kottayam vacation, maybe the habit of sharing spilled over to that part of the holiday. Cruising along the backwaters I felt able to define wind-swept hair quite literally and even the slight motion sickness became easy to ignore with the sun kissing my exposed skin and finally getting to put my prescription sunglasses to good use. The picturesque backdrops helped me to feel beautiful and for that, I am more thankful than anything. Here’s hoping ten years don’t go by until the next reunion, visits to the south are as much a fascinating window into Mom and Dad’s past as anything else.
As my former obsession show used to say “by its very definition, glee is about opening yourself up to joy” and with experiences like these under my belt I might yet learn to do just that more often.
Despite the way it crashed and burned, Glee did teach me to never stop believing and I like to think I’m one step closer to that faith with the power of all these good experiences to guide me. One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn made the idea of “someday” a trademark of many couples he wrote and I think my someday of just feeling good might be a lot closer these days. To end on one final OTH quote because it has words for everything
I’ve come to realize that I don’t have to dismiss the bad things in my past in order to find happiness, but I feel like my perspective on the years of teenage suffering has changed and that, for now, is good enough.

🖖- What “Fandoms” would your muse belong to?
» unusual questions for your muse .
first & foremost , the last of the mohicans fandom !!! woooo !!! let me tell you , this fandom of three blogs is COMPLETELY LIT !!! no , who am i kidding . it’s a tiny - ass fandom , ( & i’m the only full - time writer of the three of us ) … but i love it . also — while i’m at it , let me just say i am 100% willing to bribe people to make characters from the movie / book so don’t think that’s above me at all . but BESIDES the lotm fandom , there’s a few other’s i’d consider uncas a part of . ( also i’m totally taking this as fandoms that i have verses in so watch out !!! )
1 ) assassins creed . of the rogue variety lol . i don’t think i need to do any explanation there . literally he follows his same timeline except magua doesn’t kill munro . oh , & uncas lives . bless .
2 ) disney . i kind of tie him in to the pocahontas fandom a la when he & his family were going west to find him a wife , they travel south to avoid the mountains & kind of … pit stop in powhatan territory . OR i also tie him to the peter pan side of the fandom . uncas basically becomes part of tiger lily’s tribe in that verse . but honestly , i consider him an honorary member of the disney fandom for sure .
3 ) westworld . okay , so i believe the series is HIGHKEY lacking in the native representation . & while i understand the reasoning behind ( cowboys vs. indians = controversial & touchy subject ) i think that uncas would fit very well into that world . & his storyline even can stay pretty much the same .
ETC ) i also have verses for him in the following fandoms right now : THE HUNGER GAMES , once upon a time , hamilton , the war fandom ( revolutionary war ) , the purge . IN THE WORKS : harry potter , AHS , blackstone , marvel , jamestown , twilight & a wwii verse as well .
